discover the island of naxos
IT’S TIME TO
Enjoy all that Naxos has to offer. Beautiful beaches, unforgettable cuisine and many activities to fill your days with. People who come once tend to come back.
GO FOR A SWIM
Mikri Vigla beach is a five-minute walk from the house — a long stretch of golden sand that splits into two distinct shores: the calmer western side for swimming, and the windward eastern side, which is world-class for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Further along the coast you can discover Aliko, Plaka, Agios Prokopios and many more. Pick a different beach each day - you won't run out!

DIVE INTO THE ISLAND'S RICH HISTORY
Naxos has been inhabited for over 5,000 years, and you stumble across its history between swims and lunches. The Portara, a symbol for the island, stands as a marble doorway at the entrance of the harbour as the remains of an unfinished temple to Apollo. Inland, two unfinished kouros statues lie in the villages of Melanes and Apollonas half-reclaimed by the landscape. The Temple of Demeter, a beautifully restored sanctuary in the island's agricultural heartland, is worth the detour on its own.

EXPLORE THE LOCAL CUISINE
Naxos feeds you better than most Greek islands. The island produces its own potatoes (famous across Greece), sharp local cheeses, citrus, honey, and good quality meat — much of what ends up on your plate was grown or raised nearby. Spend a morning discovering local ingredients, stock the kitchen at Acron Vigla, and cook a long lunch with the terrace doors open. Or eat out: the island's tavernas range from lively spots in Chora town to tucked-away places in mountain villages where the menu depends on what was picked that morning.

FILL YOUR DAYS WITH MEMORABLE ACTIVITIES
There's no shortage of ways to spend a week on Naxos, and no pressure to do any of them. One of the best spots to kitesurf in Greece is right at your doorstep in Mikri Vigla. Watching the riders from the rocks is entertainment enough if you prefer to stay dry. Hire bikes and follow the coastal paths or head up into the hills toward the marble villages. If you have a day to spare, the small Cyclades — Iraklia, Schinoussa, Koufonisia — are a short ferry ride away and definitely worth the visit! Come back sunburned and hungry, which on Naxos is never a problem to solve.
